Glee (Saison 1) – Pour qui sonne le Glas (Bilan)
G comme Gabégie
S’il n’y avait qu’une expression pour décrire ces sectionals, symbole du season finale de la mi-saison de Glee et Glee elle-même, ce serait : une immense gabégie. On pourrait aussi parler de final mielleux insipide. Incolore. Prévisible, affreusement prévisible. Qui tire davantage de la série Disney Channel que d’un ensemble show en prime sur la FOX.
Mais on retiendra surtout cette gestion gabégique de la série, aussi regrettable que les prestations de Finn, plus inexistant tu meurs.
Glee ne se contente pas seulement de faire triompher sa morale et d’associer joie, victoire, séparation, divorce, mariage avorté, renvoi disciplinaire et histoire d’amour dans un esprit rarement aussi sirupeux, complaisant et tristement maladroit.
Elle sacrifie surtout tous les enjeux déployés au cours de la saison pour un épisode de transition, commercialement important, en leurs attachant une importance quantitative et dénué de créativité, à l’exception du renvoi (tristement facile) de Sue, qui, elle seule, gagne en hargne.
Surexcitation sans fond
Pas de demi-teinte, seulement des excès. Vocaux, verbaux, situationnels, sentimentaux ; la série est un ramassis de scènes bien pensantes, où l’abjecte difficulté se résout toujours par la sincérité et l’esprit sain. Episode final, les Glee se font manger tout crus par des équipes tricheuses et malveillantes (même par des handicapés, ils devraient avoir honte ces êtres en difficulté, forcément honnêtes et le cœur sur la main).
Une chanson des Rolling Stones par Finn le gentlemen sauveur et la voix toute-puissante (trop-puissante ?) de Rachel suffira alors pour mettre en liesse une salle (ou en pleurs Will alors sur la touche) pour un final chanté ridicule. Le niveau du plus affligeant aurait été là atteint si la mi-saison ne s’était pas achevé sur un clipdance hommage au professeur émérite et dont le message idéologique rappelle l’importance d’avoir un bon compagnon de vie.
Aussi ridicule, ce perpétuel effort de fond de combiner des scènes drama avec des saynettes plus légères. Comme si la série n’assumait pas son propre ton, bon enfant ou méchamment puéril.
Quinn pleure avec conviction, Rachel est parfaite dans son rôle d’héroïne cheftaine (seul atout qui assume sa complexité) mais le reste est voué au mal trop peu ironique (dont les soubresauts du 1.12 ont crée une attente vaine) ou au bien simplet à l’intérieur duquel Glee Club guilleret, professorat et adultes immatures ont la part unique. Entre les deux, une frontière étanche.
De toutes les ressources récoltées depuis treize semaines, Glee en fait un épisode synthèse bâclé et impose sa vision du triomphalisme dégoulinant de sensationnalisme et de bêtises vertueuses.
Une conclusion aux grands mais tumultueux débuts d’une série foncièrement populaire, à l’image de ce trophée gagné par Glee Club. Brillant, victorieux, tape à l’oeil, mais … en toc.

Eh ben moi je suis pas du tout de ton avis, Glee s'est vraiment imposé comme une série sucrée et très second degré, chaque semaine, il y a un rebondissement et de l'humour ! J'attends la suite avec beaucoup d'impatience !

@ Gill : des rebondissements ? Outre la fin précipitée, aucun rebondissement ni évolution de personnage.
@ Moo : il y aurait de ça en effet, la saison prévue pour 13 épisodes et qui a été réalisé d'un jet dès cet été, donne l'impression de s'achever avec ces Sectionals. Mais les conclusions de saison ne sont pas forcément toutes expédiées, et toutes sirupeuses. Garder quelques intrigues sous le coude en pariant moins sur du happy ending lui aurait fait du bien.

Les gens qui critiquent Glee comme ça ne devrait pas la regarder !
Peut être y a t'il quelque remarques justes comme le fait que Finn ne soit quasi pas présent, mais bon là c'est carrément un pamphlet auquel on a le droit !
Cette série est basée sur l'humour, les mimiques parfois "too much" (surtout de Will)... mais c'est le principe.
Si les choses n'étaient pas comme elles sont ce ne serait pas une comédie musicale. Depuis quand on regarde une comédie pour voir tout le monde perdre, surtout à la fin de l'année où les gens ont besoin de voir que quelque part les choses peuvent aller correctement et finir bien ? Ben depuis jamais.

Je suis assez d'accord avec toi, on sent un net relachement sur cette fin de première partie de saison, je trouve ca un peu dommage parce que certaines intrigues mise en place sont expédiée!! Personnellement la revélation concernant le trio Finn,Quinn et Puck est arrivé bien trop tôt a mon gout! Quand au selection pour le coup un peu trop de clichés mais bon je part du principe que Glee est une série bonbon qui fait rire et apporte pas mal de peps alors peut être que sur le fond je n'en attend pas plus que ca!!
Reste à voir ce que nous réserve la suite de cette saison :)
